BareBoat Manager

This Privacy Policy describes how BareBoat Manager handles information when users access the prototype web application, including optional Google Drive backup and sync features.
Information We Collect
- Rental, boat, customer, inspection, and checklist data entered into the application.
- Optional account information returned by Google during sign-in, such as the user email address, when the user chooses Google Drive backup.
- Encrypted backup files created by the application when a user exports or uploads backups.
How We Use Information
- To operate the rental workflow and inspection features inside the app.
- To create encrypted backup files for export or cloud storage.
- To connect to a user-selected cloud provider only after the user explicitly signs in and grants permission.
Google Drive Access
If a user selects Google Drive backup, the application requests permission to create and manage backup files associated with this app. The application uses Google OAuth to authenticate the user and only accesses the Google Drive scope granted by the user.
Encryption and Storage
Backup files are encrypted in the browser before export or upload using a passphrase supplied by the user. The application does not intend to upload unencrypted backup content when the encrypted backup flow is used.
Sharing
The application does not intentionally sell user data. Data is shared only with service providers required to complete requested features, such as Google Drive when a user explicitly chooses to connect and upload a backup.
Retention
Prototype data may remain only in the browser session unless the user exports or uploads a backup. Uploaded backup files remain in the storage location selected by the user until the user removes them.
User Choices
- Users may choose whether to connect Google Drive.
- Users may choose whether to create a local backup or upload an encrypted backup.
- Users may disconnect Google Drive access from the application and revoke access in their Google account settings.
